Antonio Conte receives 'extraordinary' contract offer for sensational return to management

Antonio Conte receives 'extraordinary' contract offer for sensational return to management

Conte could make a shock return to management.

Antonio Conte could be on the verge of returning to the touchline after receiving a new offer to return to management.

The former Chelsea and Tottenham boss has been out of work since being sacked by Spurs last season, but if reports are to be believed he could make a return to Serie A.

The Italian had a successful spell at Inter Milan between 2019 and 2021 where he won the club the league title for the first time since 2010, with the strike partnership between Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez particularly fruitful.

Despite his success at Inter, it is another Italian side who are interested in Conte.

It has been reported that current Serie A champions Napoli are keen to bring Conte back into management, following their rather diabolical title defence.

According to Emmanuele Cammaroto on NapoliMagazine, the Italian is the 'chosen one' to take over as the new Napoli boss.

Cammaroto said: “De Laurentiis, it appears, would be ready to make an extraordinary offer for Conte, €8m, with the option for a third season in which the salary could then rise by around €400-500k.

“On the bonus table to the achievement of the objectives but above all carte blanche on the market, the keys to the locker room and the sharing in the introduction of the final indication for the appointment of the sporting director," The report added.

The proposal is claimed to be something the 54-year-old is interested in, however, given the circumstances that led to Conte quitting Inter it is expected the Italian would need promises to ensure he can take the club in a positive direction.

“Conte thinks about it, he is strongly tempted. Clear and precise signals are arriving in this direction. At present, a refusal would be much more surprising than a possible yes," Cammaroto added.
