I'm a Celebrity star Angry Ginge has become a huge hit with the ITV audience and he opened up about his decision to avoid alcohol during Wednesday night's peisode.

Ginge, real name Morgan Burtwistle, was involved in a conversation with Jack Osbourne and Lisa Riley about sobriety - with the latter revealing she used to drink "three bottles of Malbec a night" following the death of her mother.

Visiting AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) in New York, the actress has since been sober for 10 years. Ginge, meanwhile told his fellow campers that although he has dabbled with alcohol over th eyears, he would "rather have a Pepsi Max".

It was the latest comment from the 24-year-old regarding his relationship with alcohol, telling the Fellas Podcast that he would "very rarely" have a drink as "I don’t like the taste".

In a video with Danny Aarons answering the Web’s Most Searched Questions’, he added, "I don’t find it good" as it "damages your liver.”

Though he would be partial to a Disaronno and coke on a rare occasion, Ginge has opened up about trauma from his childhood, previously stating that his dad was alcoholic, racist and he "used to beat every single one of my family members".

On his Off Stream podcast, Ginge revealed: “I also remember as a kid, I cannot count on two hands how many times there would be the back fences kicked in because they were wooden. "There’d just be cans of Stella and smashed glass outside, which was him.

“In the middle of the night, he just came to the house… he just picked a brick up and threw it through the window, then the next day had the balls to come and try and see me.”

The Baller League manager was raised by his mother and nan on a council estate and after achieving success with streaming and vlogging, was afforded the opportunity to play in the Sidemen charity match.

Opportunities continued to arrive and Ginge enjoyed the proudest moment of his life earlier last year when he represented England at Old Trafford, home of his beloved Manchester United, at Soccer Aid and was watched by his loved ones.

He is set to pocket £100,000 for participating in the jungle - one of the highest fees for this year's contestants - and is one of the leading contenders to win the show.
