Fulham star Alex Iwobi has been told not to use the social media platform Snapchat after fans spotted a major announcement leak.

Over the last few seasons, former Arsenal and Everton star Iwobi has given Fulham fans a taste of being in and around the squad.

The Nigerian international often shares videos from the team's dressing room during training and match days.

However, the 29-year-old recently took to the social to share the news that his behind-the-scenes Snapchat stories will stop after being told by the club's media team.

Iwobi said in a video: "For those that are wondering why I've been snapping BTS in the changing room, there's one person in the media team that's been saying I haven't been capturing the right stuff. So there's no more BTS.

"They also said I might get fined if I continue to do so."

He added: "They're trying to ban snap in our changing room.

"It's a shame, man. I know you guys enjoy seeing what my teammates are like behind the scenes, but I have to respect the rules."

Reacting in the comments section, fans were adamant that Iwobi's Snapchat 'ban' may have stemmed from him accidentally 'leaking' Tom Cairney's renewal.

Earlier in the month, it was confirmed that captain Cairney had signed a new one-year contract, having previously been linked with a move to Wrexham.

Cairney said: "I'm happy to sign for another year at this amazing football club. I'm delighted. It feels brilliant. It feels right. It's always been home.

"I've fully enjoyed the past three years in the Premier League, contributing on and off the pitch, and I just want to help take this club as far as I can. I'll always try to do that."

Reacting to Iwobi's video, one fan said: "Apparently he leaked Tom Cairney resigning."

Another tweeted a screenshot of Iwobi's Snapchat story from earlier in the month and wrote: "Tom Cairney’s name is still in the training ground dressing room. Via Alex Iwobi Snapchat story."

A third fan added: "He was leaking announcements on his snap, if he kept it up he’d be leaking tactics next."

However, it must be said that there is no concrete evidence that Iwobi 'leaked' anything on his Snapchat stories and this is purely fans speculating.
