Real Madrid's Official Statement To Announce Gareth Bale Departure Hasn't Gone Down Well

Real's official statement regarding the loaning of Gareth Bale to Tottenham was incredibly cold for a player of his stature.

Real Madrid's official statement announcing the departure of Gareth Bale to Tottenham Hotspur on a season-long loan has been deemed "cold" and "pathetic" by fans around the world.

Gareth Bale's tenure at Real Madrid has been quite the rollercoaster.

Even though Bale technically never lived up to his then-world-record transfer fee back in 2013 for Β£85 million, the Welshman was still incredibly instrumental in a La Liga league title (won two), four UEFA Champions League titles, and a Copa Del Rey.

With Bale's career seeming to have come to end at Madrid after re-joining Tottenham Hotspur on a season-long loan, Real Madrid released a statement confirming the news of the loan to Spurs.

However, his send-off from the club he won 15 major titles with couldn't have been any colder if they tried.

In the official statement, Real Madrid said:

"Real Madrid C. F. and Tottenham Hotspur FC have agreed to the loan of Gareth Bale for next season, until 30 June, 2021. Our club wishes the best of luck to a player who is part of one of the most successful periods of our history."

The short, two-sentence statement hasn't gone down well with any fans whatsoever.

Fans on Twitter especially have blasted the statement, calling it cold, pathetic and lacking class.

Even though it could be argued that due to it only being a loan with no option or obligation to buy that he will be returning to Real Madrid, it would be a very surprising and shocking climax if Bale ever wears a Real Madrid shirt again.
