Manchester United are set to offer Erling Haaland £200,000 a week to tempt him to Old Trafford.

The Sun have reported Haaland earns £20,000 a week at current club Red Bull Salzburg meaning it's an insane pay rise.

Haaland has reportedly been in talks with 'The Red Devils' over a January transfer which would see him return to Salzburg for the remainder of the season.

Should the 19-year-old join, he'd also have a number of incentives included in his contract such as winning the Golden Boot.

One big incentive includes firing United back into the Champions League after spending this season in the Europa League.

A variety of clubs have been chasing the teenager and the pack is thinning as we edge closer to January.

Fellow Red Bull partners Leipzig have been linked with Haaland but the Bundesliga leaders seem to have conceded defeat.

Red Bull GmbH Global Head of Soccer Oliver Mintzlaff told Sport1 per Metro: "Yes, we met with him. We are interested in the player, great interest.

"He listened to it, logically, and is very open to a move. He would like to change [clubs] in summer at the latest.

"It is not easy. There's Manchester United, Juventus, Borussia Dortmund. There are a few other clubs as well.

"Of course, our club also has certain guard rails and limits. And I have named the clubs that compete, and there may be salary regions that we don't want to go into."

He also goes on to hint it's not just a transfer fee that will be big bucks.

"[The fee] is still manageable, but the package does not only consist of the transfer fee.

"It's the same cliche again - we can buy everything and we can get everything and we can do everything. Unfortunately, we can't, otherwise Haaland would already be with us."

Haaland's goal record shows why Europe's elite are racing to sign him up.

He's scored 16 goals in 14 Austrian Bundesliga games this season as well as dominating the Champions League.

Salzburg finished third in Group E but Haaland did all he could.

He's second in the scoring charts for the competition after netting eight goals, two more than third placed Harry Kane.
