Manchester United are prepared to make a shock move for Barcelona's Antoine Griezmann - with the Spanish side reportedly open to selling.
Griezmann joined Barcelona from Atletico Madrid last summer for €120 million but he hasn't made the desired impact.
Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo have revealed that United are open to making a move for the 29-year-old who they have shown interest in over recent transfer windows.
It's also reported that the Red Devils could offer the Frenchman the iconic number 7 shirt - currently occupied by Alexis Sanchez who is out on loan at Inter Milan.
United signed Sanchez from bitter rivals Arsenal back in 2018 and had hoped he would be their talisman.
But a run of five goals in 45 games saw the Chilean shipped out on loan this summer with many thinking his days at Old Trafford are limited.
Griezmann came close to moving to Manchester in 2017 but Atletico Madrid were slapped with a transfer ban, meaning he couldn't be replaced if he'd left.
As a result, he decided to remain in Madrid.
But he ended up swapping Atletico for Barca last summer and many had hoped he would fill the void left by Neymar's departure in 2017.
However, the World Cup winner has only scored eight goals in La Liga this season and is yet to find his best position in Barca's front line.
Selling Griezmann would free up funds for new boss Quique Setien who is reportedly interested in Inter striker Lautaro Martinez.
United are in need of more firepower up front having not replaced Romelu Lukaku in the summer.
Odion Igahlo arrived on loan in the January transfer window but it remains to be seen if his move becomes permanent.
It could be a busy summer at Old Trafford with Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho also on the club's radar.
The 20-year-old is one of Europe's hottest prospects and will likely cost over £100 million in the summer.
Evening Standard have reported that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are the likeliest destination for Sancho which would be a huge coup.
