Jack Grealish has 'liked' a tweet about joining Manchester United in the summer transfer window - with Red Devils fans getting very excited.

The Aston Villa captain has been a target for United since last year as they look to strengthen in attack.

Friday saw Grealish retweet a clip of Wayne Rooney from Euro 2004 to which a fan replied: "Please join United."

Grealish then liked the tweet before quickly unliking it a few moments later.

The 25-year-old signed a new deal with his boyhood club last year, but it hasn't stopped him being linked with a move away from Villa Park.

Fans have reacted to the tweet and they're convinced a move to Old Trafford is now on the cards.

One said: "I've been saying all along Jack could easily leave this window and nobody wants to hear it."

Another added: "Seems like a really weird tweet to have accidentally liked."

While a third said: "Grealish is actually a top tier troll."

He has also earned a place in Gareth Southgate's provisional England squad for Euro 2020.

This season saw Dean Smith's side finish 11th in the Premier League table and huge part of that is Grealish.

Despite missing a huge chunk of 2021 with a shin injury, Grealish managed to score six times and produce 10 assists in the league.

Agent Jonathan Barnett has confirmed Grealish is attracting strong interest from clubs cross Europe.

He told SNTV per Birmingham Mail: "The truth is we don't know (what will happen). There are many clubs (interested) and I wouldn't put Manchester United at the top of that (list).

"But he could stay. He could stay as well so it's a conversation the club, Aston Villa, will have with Jack and ourselves then we'll see where we go.

"He loves Villa but I think we just have to wait and see how things pan out. At the moment he is a Villa player and he has no thoughts about anything else.

"He could be a big star in the summer, he maybe should have been playing a little bit earlier for England.

"It is unfortunate that he has got this injury at the moment but that will be fine.

"The only hope is he is given a chance and he will be great."

Manchester City have been linked with a move in recent days and are reportedly ready to pay up to £100 million - smashing the British transfer record.

Pep Guardiola has reportedly made Grealish his No.1 midfield target ahead of the summer, according to the Daily Mail.

Paul Pogba's £89 million transfer to United in 2016 is still the British record, with City breaking their club-record transfer with the signing of Ruben Dias (£64 million) last summer.
