Kylian Mbappe hit an impressive 36km/h to score Paris Saint-Germain's opener in their 2-0 win over Marseille.

The Frenchman is already regarded as one of the world's fastest footballers but he took it to new levels on Sunday evening.

Marseille had a corner kick in the eighth minute, which Mauro Icardi managed to head away. Icardi receives the ball from Marco Verratti and plays through Angel Di Maria.

But sprinting into the frame is Mbappe, who darted past the Marseille defence like they weren't even there. Di Maria slid the ball through and Mbappe made no mistake with the finish.

Not a bad way to mark your 150th appearance for the club.

It took the 22-year-old roughly 11 seconds to run box-to-box and turn defence into attack - a second longer than it too Erling Haaland vs PSG last season.

Fans have reacted to the speed on display and it's why Mbappe is a deadly attacker who could get in any team.

PSG doubled their lead later in the first half through Icardi's unique 'no-look' backwards header.

Mauricio Pochettino's side sit third in Ligue 1 and three points behind Lille.

'Poch' spoke to PSG's official website post-match and admitted he's been please with his first month in charge.

"It was a very good and solid performance," the Argentine boss begun. "I am so happy for the players, for our fans, our staff and the club because winning this type of game is important for everyone.

After one month, to have built this relationship and to continue improving day by day, I think it's important to have this type of happiness and victory. It's always a good thing to keep on working in the way we are working.
