Roy Keane’s Hilarious Response When Asked To Congratulate Rangers On Title Win

"No."

Roy Keane gave a typically deadpan response when asked if he had anything to say to congratulate Rangers on their league title win.

Steven Gerrard's side's Scottish Premiership triumph was confirmed on Sunday after Celtic drew 0-0 at Dundee United. And Keane, a boyhood Celtic supporter, was asked if he had "any words of celebration for Rangers" live on Sky Sports.

"For Rangers? No," responded Keane, simply.

"Listen, it's obviously been a tough year for Celtic. But they'll bounce back next year like all great clubs do."

Keane finished with a classic, dead-eyed stare - only interrupted by Micah Richards' eruption of laughter.

Having been asked to praise Rangers' title success, Roy had simply said "no" and talked up Celtic bouncing back instead.

The Manchester United midfielder played for Celtic at the end of his career, during the 2005/06 season.

But struggling with a hip issue and reeling from his Old Trafford exit, Keane only played 13 games - scoring one goal - and has said since he's "embarrassed" about how brief his spell was there. Keane finished his playing career at the end of that season.

However the Irishman has remained a keen fan and watched as Celtic won nine league titles in a row going into the 2020/21 season.

But Rangers, managed by Liverpool icon Gerrard, have been in dominant form this season.

They are unbeaten in 32 league games and visit Celtic Park in their next fixture, but now with the league title already settled.

Not that Roy Keane, perhaps understandably, was in any mood to congratulate his former team's great Glasgow rivals.
