Gareth Southgate has dropped Trent Alexander-Arnold from the England squad because he 'hasn't been at the same level' as the last few years.
Alexander-Arnold is still rated as one of the Premier League's top talents - but his poor form has coincided with the Reds dropping down to sixth in the table.

Per James Pearce, Southgate explained: "I don't think he's played at the level he's been at during the last few years.
"He's a big talent and I'm sure he will play a big role for England in the future."
While the 22-year-old hasn't hit the heights of recent seasons, he did put in a brilliant performance against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday evening.

Defenders chosen in his natural right-back position instead are Reece James, Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier.
Fans have reacted to the decision and they are in disbelief at Alexander-Arnold's omission.

Elsewhere in the squad are first time call-ups for West Brom goalkeeper Sam Johnstone and Aston Villa forward Ollie Watkins.
Jesse Lingard also returns after a good few months on loan at West Ham United, as does Manchester United's Luke Shaw.
Notable absentees through injury are first-choice goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, Jordan Henderson and Jack Grealish.
