It's news that hardly came as a massive shock to most but Mohamed Salah won the PFA Player of the Award on Sunday night, beating highly revered Manchester City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne to the accolade.

Footage of the Egyptian King accepting his award has gone viral on social media, not least because Salah came out with this cheeky comment after the host Manish Bhasin asked Salah whether he could ever dream that his return to the Premier League would have gone as well.

The 25-year-old's self-assured response of 'yes' made the room laugh but the winner of the evening went to explain why.

"From the first day the Premier League was always in my mind that I wanted to succeed here," he continued.

"I didn't have my chance at Chelsea so it was in my mind that I would go back to the Premier League and I will show everyone my football.

"I'm very happy about the award and very happy for my teammates and for what we're doing in the Premier League and also in the Champions League," Salah said.

With the helping hand of Salah, Liverpool have made it to the Champions League semi-finals. They will face off against Salah's former club Roma, with the expectancy on them to progress to the final where they'll dual off with either Bayern Munich or Real Madrid.
