Mason Mount will captain Chelsea and England in the future, according to club legend John Terry.

Mount captained the side in their FA Cup clash with Luton Town last month - former manager Frank Lampard's final game in charge.

Terry was skipper of club and country during his prime and he's tipped fellow academy graduate Mount to follow in his footsteps.

Speaking on Instagram Live per The Sun, Terry explained: "Mason Mount is 100 per cent future Chelsea captain.

"He's been the best player at Chelsea this season to be honest.

"He's a great lad, trains unbelievably well, is Chelsea through and through and shows leadership qualities.

"In my mind he'll be Chelsea and England captain."

Mount has established himself as a regular in Gareth Southgate's England setup and scored the winner against Belgium back in October.

New Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel also looks to be a fan of the 22-year-old, having featured in all four Premier League games so far.

Terry also touched on other players he believe could be stars for the Three Lions in the future.

As well as Phil Foden, he also tipped Jack Grealish to be a key player.

Terry is current assistant manager at Aston Villa and works alongside Grealish with manager Dean Smith.

When discussing Grealish, he stated: "What a talent. What a player.

"We're lucky to have him at Villa but for me he's one of the best in the Premier League without a shadow of a doubt and can still improve as he's only young.

"The side people don't see is he's the last one to leave the training ground.

"He's there every night, he wants to improve his strength, agility, speed, always looking at clips of himself after the game.

"He's desperate to make the England team and has been instrumental in Villa's success."

When it comes to Foden, this season has been a breakout one for the 20-year-old.

He capped off a Man of the Match display against Liverpool last weekend by netting his side's fourth goal in a 4-1 win.

Terry added: "When you talk about Phil Foden and Jack, they're the two best young players in the world at the minute and we're lucky they're both English.

"He's 20 years old and producing great skill and quality in a top side."
