Liverpool went six points clear at the top of the Premier League on Saturday after a stellar performance against Crystal Palace.

Just a week after the Eagles held title challengers tottenham to a 1-1 draw, the Merseyside club dismantled Roy Hodgson's team in a 7-0 victory.

Jurgen Klopp will be particularly happy as the result will put to bed any criticism of his side's away form - their last away Premier League victory came in September against Chelsea.

Takumi Minamino repaid Klopp's trust by opening the scoring, before Sadio Mane doubled the lead after 35 minutes.

That wasn't all before half time, with Roberto Firmino starting and finishing a fine counter attack to make it 3-0 at the break.

Liverpool could have taken their foot off the pedal at this point, but instead they pushed on - with captain Jordan Henderson making it 4-0 before Klopp decided to go for the rout by bringing Mohamed Salah off the bench.

Firmino doubled his own tally before Salah netted a reaction header and excellent curling finish in the final ten minutes.

The win means that Liverpool are guaranteed top spot whatever happens in Tottenham's match against Leicester City on Sunday. After beating the north Londoners mid-week, their rivals may be getting worried that the Reds are hitting their best form at exactly the right moment.

Many fans are already convinced that the Reds will be winning the Premier League this season.
