David Beckham is reportedly in talks with Netflix to create a full movie dedicated to his life.

Beckham is one of the biggest celebrities in the world and his glittering 21-year football career has played a huge role in that.

The Sun have reported that the former Manchester United midfielder has been inspired after watching 'The Last Dance', a documentary series following basketball icon Michael Jordan.

Amazon are also in discussion with the 45-year-old, who will be producing the movie himself though TV firm Studio 99.

A source told The Sun: "It's something David is excited about and has wanted to do for a while. The film will feature new content and archive footage.

"It's going to be about David's life post-football, especially the creation of his new team in Miami, but will have some personal content too.

"Interest in his life and family is huge. Everyone has high hopes for this."

Beckham began his career at Manchester United and he is part of the 'Class of 92', a crop of academy players who achieved huge success with the club.

He was part of the treble-winning side of 1999 and won an additional five Premier League titles with the club.

Real Madrid came calling in 2003 and a move to Spain helped solidify 'Becks' as a global superstar.

Four years in Spain saw him win La Liga once and he then moved to Major League Soccer franchise LA Galaxy.

The move to America helped kick-start widespread interest in MLS and a slew of players followed in his footsteps.

He ended his career at Paris Saint-Germain in 2013 and added yet another league title to his CV.

On the international front, Beckham is England's third-highest appearance maker and was captain for six years.

Life after football has seen Beckham create his own MLS franchise in the form of Inter Miami.

Beckham isn't the only former England star who'll be making a move to the silver screen soon.

Former teammate Wayne Rooney is set to be the subject of a new documentary from Lorton Entertainment.

Deadline revealed earlier this year that the movie is currently in pre-production and will have BAFTA-winner Matt Smith in the director's chair.

The movie is currently slated for a November 2020 release.

Rooney commented on the project stating he is excited for fans to see "the person he really is."

"I'm excited to be the subject of this documentary," the 34-year-old began.

"This is a film that looks in detail at my journey: the highs, the lows, the beautiful game, finally I have the opportunity to show the person I really am."
