Harvey Elliott has been stretchered off with a suspected broken leg during Leeds United vs Liverpool.

The 18-year-old suffered the sickening injury after an initial challenge from Pascal Struijk.

In a cruel twist, Elliott was about to be substituted for captain Jordan Henderson and manager Jurgen Klopp looked visibly distraught.

Struijk was sent off for the tackle which was made without malice and he also looked upset at the result.

Mohamed Salah immediately rushed for medical attention and Sky Sports did not replay the tackle.

Elliott has featured for Klopp's side in the opening weeks after a successful loan spell at Blackburn Rovers last campaign.

This was his third start in a row after featuring in a win over Burnley and draw against Chelsea last month.

Liverpool ran out 3-0 winners thanks to goals from Salah, Fabinho and Sadio Mane.

Salah put the Reds ahead from a Trent Alexander-Arnold cross which is his 100th Premier League goal.

Only four players in league history have reached that tally quicker.

Liverpool did have the ball in the back of the net again in the first half through Thiago, but it was ruled out for offside.

Fabinho bundled home from a corner to double Liverpool's lead.

Mane had a number of chances throughout the game but lashed home a third during eight minutes of added time.

Victory for Liverpool takes them up to third in the league, level on points with Manchester United and Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Leeds sit 17th and without a win.
