Gerard Pique Takes A Dig At Cristiano Ronaldo

Gerard Pique has taken a shot at Cristiano Ronaldo, following the global superstar's move from Real Madrid to Juventus.

Pique and Ronaldo were once tough rivals, having played at Barcelona and Real Madrid, respectively.

But just because Ronaldo has headed off to Italy, it doesn't mean that the rivalry has died.

At a PokerStars event, got things heated again, as he was asked about Ronaldo's move to Italian giants Juventus this summer, and whether it would have any negative ramifications on Real,

"They are a team who work well," responded to Pique via the Daily Mirror.

"The loss of Ronaldo is important - they will be more a team than a group of individuals."

Brazil international Marcelo had a different take, however. He said. "[Ronaldo] is the best in the world," said the Brazilian recently. "It's obvious that you miss playing with him, but Bale and Benzema are really good, too."

Real Madrid have been dominant in Europe in recent years. But the unexpected departures of Zinedine Zidane and Ronaldo has meant that they now face an uncertain future. That's not to say the future is bleak for Los Blancos, but there may be a settling in period of the side.
