Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson is currently 4/1 to score at any time vs Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday evening.

City have had a problem with penalties over the last few seasons and Pep Guardiola recently remarked it could be Ederson's time to shine.

It seems punters have taken those words to heart as Bet365 currently have the 27-year-old as a big favourite.

He is also 14/1 to either be first goalscorer or last goalscorer. Those are the same odds as Gareth Bale at the time of writing.

City missed six of their 16 penalties last season and manager Pep Guardiola joked he could turn to Ederson.

But following Ilkay Gundogan's miss vs Liverpool at the weekend along with Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne being injured, it's now just a 'half joke.'

"He has to save them also. Then after we see what happens," Guardiola said per Sky Sports.

"It depends on the players. Sergio [Aguero]'s not fit, Kevin [De Bruyne]'s an incredibly good taker but is unfortunately not fit yet.

"It depends on the line up. But he is an option because I am pretty sure he's a good taker. A penalty taker has to be the personality with huge confidence in himself."

The former Benfica man is technically sound with his feet and has been one of the Premier League's best distributors since arriving in 2017.

He'll likely be buoyed by the fact weekend opponents Spurs crashed out of the FA Cup on Wednesday after a 5-4 defeat to Everton.

Poor defending infuriated manager Jose Mourinho who wasn't in the mood post-match.

He told the Daily Mail: "We had the ball; we created, we had great movement, scored goals. Great character to fight against but goals only win games if you don't make so many mistakes.

"We were the best team, winning 1-0; then in five minutes it was mistake, mistake, mistake; goal, goal, goal."

Meanwhile, City advanced to the quarter-finals after defeating Swansea City 3-1.
