DeAndre Yedlin couldn't help Newcastle United come from behind to beat Augsburg in the Magpies' pre-season friendly, but he did take the opportunity to show off his unflappable determination and veracious pace.

Augsburg beat Newcastle United 1-0, but no one could question the commitment the players gave, not least USA international Yedlin, seen here running from box to box at blistering speed.

And Yedlin admitted that the run made him feel pretty knackered afterwards

And the reaction is full of Toon supporters who can't believe their eyes.

Yedlin moved to St James' Park when Newcastle were relegated to the Championship. It took a while for him to find his feet, but he soon found out to be a solid purchase from Tottenham Hotspur.

Newcastle are going through an uncertain period. Their manager, Rafa Benitez, is refusing to sign a long-term contract with the club until they show him some ambition. But owner Mike Ashley is reportedly withholding funds until the Spaniard puts pen to paper and signs a new deal.

The club only have until Thursday to put their hand in their pocket and keep their man. They're playing a risky game, and stand the chance of having Benitez leaving their club to greener pastures. He has built an emotional connection with the supporters and it will be hard for him to leave, but he might be left with no choice.
