Dani Alves Is Now A Centre-Mid And Tearing Up The Brazilian League

It just isn't fair.

Sometimes you meet those people who are just good at everything, and it appears that Dani Alves is one of them.

The former Barcelona ace returned to his native Brazil in 2019, and joined Sao Paulo - completing a dream having been a lifelong supporter of the club.

At first the full-back took some time to settle back in South America, but it seems that may have been because he was getting used to a new position.

Manager Fernando Diniz has moved the 37-year-old into central midfield, and it appears to have been a stroke of genius.

With Alves in the middle of it all, Sao Paulo have stormed to the top of the Brazilian Serie A, seven points clear of second placed Atletico Mineiro. They also have the most goals scored, and the joint-least goals conceded.

The all-time great hasn't been carried by the team either, according to SofaScore. He is first in accurate passes-per-game, third in key-passes-per-game, and, according to their rating system, the best player in his team as well as the fifth best in the division.

All this has fans once again in awe of the ex-Juventus star, and they haven't been shy in their praise of Alves recently.

Could all this mean that Alves is actually, somehow underrated? Probably not, but maybe someone should have tried him out away from right-back when he was in Europe...
