All is not well at Barcelona under Ronald Koeman after the side's slow start to the season and it appears his tactical decisions are baffling both his players and staff alike, as reported by The Mirror.

Barça were most recently beaten 2-0 by Atlético Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday, and the match included a bizarre incident involving Jordi Alba. The defender was warming up on the sidelines looking ready to enter the fray, but assistant coach Henrik Larsson and goalkeeping coach Jose De la Fuente told him he would no longer be required.

The Spain international was clearly perplexed by the decision asking "why don't you put me on?", but the pair seemed to indicate that the decision had come from Koeman up in the stands, with the Dutchman sitting alongside Jordi Cruyff.

It seems to be only a matter of time before Koeman is replaced at the Cou Namp and he has come under fire from both fans and players alike.

Miralem Pjanic is one of those who has fired shots at the Dutchman after being loaned out to Turkish club Besiktas this season, and indicated that a new coach is needed to bring back the glory days to the club.

Pjanic struggled under Koeman last season and was handed just six La Liga starts in 2020/21.
"[Barcelona] are going through difficult times," Pjanic told beIN SPORTS. "The results are not going as the fans want, which puts pressure on the players.

"Maybe a good leader is needed to get the team back on its feet. Barcelona will return to the past, but it will take some time.

"Barça are always one of the four or five biggest clubs in the world and they will go back to the old days."

Barcelona return to La Liga action after the international break with a match at home to Valencia on Sunday 17th October, before hosting Dynamo Kiev in the Champions League three days later.
