Marco Asensio was furious after not getting any minutes for Real Madrid against his former club.

Footage shows a furious Marco Asensio completely lost it after Carlo Ancelotti elected against bringing him on for Real Madrid against RCD Mallorca.

Real came from behind to beat Mallorca 4-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu, with Federico Valverde scoring the pick of the goals and Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo Goes and Antonio Rudiger also on target.

It was a fifth win in a row for Los Blancos and all seemed happy and rosy. However that wasn't the case with Asensio, who was an unused substitute.

Eduardo Camavinga, Nacho, Luka Modric and Dani Carvajal were all brought on by Ancelotti but Asensio was denied a late cameo against his former club.

And he did not take it well at all. Returning from a warm-up on the touchline after Carvajal and Camavinga were subbed in, the Spain international hurled his bib away, kicked the floor and then launched a bottle in anger.

The cameras would later pan to him sat on the bench shortly after Rodrygo scored the third and he had a face like thunder.

Asensio got 10 minutes of action in the 3-0 Champions League victory of Celtic in midweek but has played just EIGHT minutes in La Liga this term.

With his contract up in 2023, he was linked with a move away from the 14-time European champions this summer and might just be regretting not getting out Real.

Ancelotti addressed Asensio's behaviour after the game and said he understood why the 26-year-old was frustrated.

"Asensio is angry and it’s normal – if he gets angry it’s because he wants to play and I take that into account," he said, as per AS.

"He’s an important player.”

Asensio was signed for a dirt-cheap €3.9 million fee in 2014, with tennis legend Rafa Nadal said to be instrumental in the deal happening.

He's gone on to play over 200 times for Real, winning three La Liga titles and three Champions Leagues.
