Footage from the viewpoint of an Everton fan during the pitch invasion has emerged, and it shows that Patrick Vieira was harassed as he headed to the changing rooms.

Everton were 2-0 down against Crystal Palace on Thursday night, and considering they've never come back from that score at half time in the history of the Premier League it seemed like relegation may have been staring them in the face.

However the Toffees managed to overcome the two goal deficit and win 3-2, officially securing their place in the top flight for yet another year.

Unfortunately the match was then marred by the fact that there was a pitch invasion and one fan appeared to be kicked by Palace boss Vieira, after goading the Arsenal legend.

Now footage from the point of view an Everton fan shows how the Frenchman was harassed as he attempted to walk off the pitch.

The fan can be heard shouting "suck on that you muppet," then screaming right in Vieira's face and sticking his fingers up at the manager.

He then screams "f**k off" before he appears to be on the ground in the following moments, which might be due to Vieira's reaction.

Fans on social media showed support for the former Nice manager after being provoked by an idiot who should have been focussing on his team winning and staying up, rather than berating the opposition.

Unfortunately there has been similarly ugly scenes in play-off semi final games this week, with one Nottingham Forest fan headbutting Billy Sharp following their win over Sheffield United, and the fan has since been jailed.

There were more ugly scenes on Thursday night, as Swindon Town players were attacked following their loss in the League Two play off to Port Vale, with the Valiants going through on penalties.

Speaking to BBC Wiltshire, Swindon boss Ben Garner said, "There was physical abuse out there, there was verbal abuse.

"I'm very proud of the players for the strength they've just shown. There's a lad with a cut on his nose, there's been all sorts of abuse.

"I just don't understand it, I just don't know where this is coming from. I've seen it in some of the other games recently. Disgusting. It's disgusting."
