Fans Shocked At Size Of Linesman's Feet In Welsh Football League Game

Fans Shocked At Size Of Linesman's Feet In Welsh Football League Game

"Size on the linesman’s feet tonight. Absolutely massive."

A linesman from Wales has gone viral on social media for the size of his feet.

Twitter user @RichLido was in attendance for the Cymru South clash between Briton Ferry Llansawel and Ammanford in Neath Port Talbot, Wales on Friday night.

He witnessed the home side secure all three points thanks to a Keiran Williams' header midway through the second half, but it was a snap of the linesman's feet that grabbed the headlines.

Are they naturally big feet or did he just wear the wrong sized boots? It's a question that got people talking on social media.

"He has definitely borrowed them from someone three sizes bigger," commented one Twitter user, while another said: "Imagine a striker with those feets, he will be offside all the time."

A third wrote: "The numbers on this tweet are almost the same as his shoe size. Your phone must be melting."

In terms of the action, Ferry earned a scrappy three points as they climbed up to third in the league table, while the visitors fell to a fourth straight defeat.

On the niche subject of linesman's footwear, a League Two linesman appeared to forget his boots for Tranmere's win against Morecambe on Boxing Day 2018.

So what did he do? Scott Oldham's assistant decided to take things into his own hands and run the line in his smart shoes.

Twitter user Grant White, who originally posted the image to social media, questioned whether he had a note for his lack of appropriate footwear.

And wearing those shoes at Prenton Park certainly got people as Cole Stockton, James Norwood and Jay Harris found the net in an easy win for Tranmere over their League Two counterparts.

It may be a niche subject but it seems the footwear of a linesman brings plenty of discussion. Who would have thought it.
