Over the years in football, there have been some truly horrendous misses.

Even world-class players like Kevin De Bruyne are guilty of missing sitters, as the Belgian proved against his former team Chelsea in the 3-1 defeat at the Etihad on Saturday.

From Sunday League to the Premier League, there have been plenty of sitters in the game of football.

This one in Serbia was doing the rounds a couple of weeks ago:

Makedonikos Kozanis and Vatera locked horns in every football hipster's dream game in the fourth division of Greek football and Kozanis striker Thanasis Takidis had the perfect opportunity to score when the opposition goalkeeper raced out his area like a madman and gifted him the ball.

Takidis advances towards goal and though a defender does come back to out him off, he has the goal gaping and has two chances to put the ball in. But his dodgy defending and indecisiveness sees him squander an absolute golden opportunity.
