Juventus' Paulo Dybala recently put pen-to-paper on a new lucrative deal following reports heavily linking him with a move away.

Barcelona and Real Madrid were supposedly tracking the Argentine starlet, but he's put those speculation to bed by signing on the dotted line.

Dybala will remain in Turin for the foreseeable future, though he could've turned out for Manchester City had they snapped him up when they had the chance.

According to The Mirror, when he was plying his trade for Palermo, Dybala was hoping to secure a move to City with their sporting director Txiki Begiristain on board.

That was until Manuel Pellegrini prevented the transfer from coming to fruition by opting to draft in then-Swansea striker Wilfried Bony.

City signed the Ivory Coast international for £28 million, missing out on Dybala who joined Juventus the following summer.

And he's since become one of the brightest talents in the game. Dybala not Bony.

Which was perfectly underlined earlier in the week as he produced heroics by bagging a brace against Barcelona.

Unlucky, Manuel.
