Legendary Brazilian Pele has been named the most overrated footballer of all time ahead of David Ginola, Football365 has revealed.
Pele is widely considered by many fans as one of the best footballers of all time alongside the likes of Diego Maradona, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
But on this occasion, Football365 has named the 79-year-old former Santos star top of its overrated list.

The publication pointed towards Pele not being 'Brazil's best player at either the 1958 or 1970 World Cups, was injured for most of the 1962 victory and needlessly padded his otherwise breathtaking statistics with unofficial friendlies and the like.'
Football365's Matt Stead went on to suggest that Heleno de Freitas and Garrincha were 'potentially as good but both prove that Pele was a beneficiary of circumstances, too.'
Also making the controversial top 10 includes legendary Brazilian Roberto Carlos, who is often considered one of the best full-backs of all time.
Stead said fans could easily find compilation videos that show how effective the 47-year-old former Real Madrid star was with his 'lung-bursting runs and physics-bending shots.'

But the publication suggested that there is 'scant proof that the Brazilian ever really bothered defending.'
Paul Scholes, who is often considered one of the best Premier League midfielders of all time, shockingly placed eighth in the rankings.
Football365 did call the 45-year-old Manchester United legend a 'phenomenal' player and said 'only a fool would argue [against] that.'

While Stead claimed Scholes was underappreciated by those outside of the United sphere in his career, he insisted that the ex-Red Devils midfielder has become 'overrated by the rest in retirement.'
