French Newspaper Lays Into Arsenal Defender With Embarrassingly Low Rating

L'Equipe have hammered Arsenal with their player ratings following last night's Champions League game against Paris Saint-Germain.

The French newspaper obviously didn't rate the performance of the English Premier League outfit as they left the capital with a 1-1 draw.

Edinson Cavani had given PSG the lead after just one minute of the match, but Arsenal settled back into the game before earning a draw with Alexis Sanchez's 77th-minute equaliser - something L'Equipe obviously feels they didn't deserve.

Times chief football writer Henry Winter shared a picture of the newspaper's player ratings from the game and they're very harsh on Arsene Wenger's players, especially summer signing Mustafi.

According to the paper, the German defender was so bad he only rated a two, while Hector Bellerin, Nacho Monreal and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain each got a three

The highest rating for Arsenal was a nine courtesy of David Ospina, with Marquinhos, Serge Aurier and Marco Verratti all getting sevens - the highest of the home side:

Those are some seriously harsh ratings from L'Equipe.

Still, Mustafi and the rest of the Arsenal team won't mind as they head back home with a point from what should be their most difficult game of the group phase.

Arsenal fans - do you agree with L'Equipe? Was Mustafi that poor?
