Erik Ten Hag Is Giving Personal Training To Manchester United Youngsters, Three Days Into Pre-Season

Ten Hag is hard at work.

Footage of Erik ten Hag's first training session as Manchester United manager has emerged and he is personally coaching a number of academy stars.

Players returned for pre-season training on Monday but with some of the first-team squad still on holiday, it has given ten Hag a chance to work with the youth team's top prospects.

The 52-year-old insists every United player needs to buy into his style of play, no matter their age.

Clips of ten Hag in deep conversation with players from the U23s prove he's got an incredible attention to detail.

Among the lads in the picture are Shola Shoretire, Charlie Savage, Zidane Iqbal and Alejandro Garnacho who have all made appearances for the first team.

Alvaro Fernandez, who was named U23 Player of the Year last season, was on the bench a few times in the last campaign but didn't make his debut.

Ten Hag can be heard telling his players to up the tempo after making a few 'soft passes' early on.

By the end he has changed his tune and calls the football 'beautiful' while telling the team to not stay complacent.

During his time at Ajax, ten Hag handed 21 debuts to academy graduates and some have gone on to be massive successes.

Noussair Mazraoui and Ryan Gravenberch will join Bayern Munich in July and Sergino Dest is currently on the books at Barcelona.

Fans are hoping ten Hag will work his magic at Old Trafford.

One said: "Finally some real coaching instead of vibes."

Another commented: "We're starting to look like a football club again."

A third tweeted: "Probably the most man management they’ve had in 5 years."

While someone put: "Bloke is sat on a goldmine of talent and he knows it."

Garnacho in particular is a player supporters are very excited about.

The 17-year-old scored twice in May's FA Youth Cup final win over Nottingham Forest before starring for Argentina's U20s in the Toulon Tournament.

His summer exploits meant he was entitled to three weeks off, but the winger is keen to impress and returned early.

Ten Hag is reportedly keen to 'fast-track' Garnacho's development and wants him getting regular minutes next season.

United start their campaign at home to Brighton & Hove Albion on August 7.
