Following England's victory over Norway to book a spot in the 2026 World Cup semi-final, Thomas Tuchel clashed with an ITV reporter who questioned the mentality of the camp.
A Jude Bellingham double fired England through to the final four of the World Cup, after a freak goal from a Norwegian cross put the Three Lions behind early on.
Although it was far from a thrilling end-to-end game, with the intense heat finally taking a toll on the European sides after 120 minutes of gasping action, England's resilience was on display again as the likes of Jordan Pickford, John Stones, and Dan Burn came out on top in the deep ends of extra time.
Following the game, Tuchel claimed that he wasn't 'happy' with the performance, though, despite some standout performances.

But after his criticism was met with questions about their 'mentality', the England boss was left furious as he clashed with ITV.
Thomas Tuchel interview with ITV
Clark: Well, you've talked about your team's suffering before. Today, how do you sum up what the team have found?
Tuchel: I didn't talk about suffering, I talked about…
No, I never talked about suffering. We made life very, very difficult for ourselves today.
The result is fantastic, we're in the last four, it's amazing, but... I'm not happy with the performance.
Clark: In what sense?
Tuchel: In every sense. Again, the commitment is there, but... We made life very, very difficult for us, in the way we played, how we played.
Sloppy, a lot of technical mistakes, not fast enough. Not repetitive enough. We were lucky today.
Clark: Was that the occasion, getting to the players?
Tuchel: No, no, it's just...
Clark: Mentality thing?
Tuchel: No, nothing. Mentality?
This is pure mentality. How can you ask about mentality now? This is pure mentality.
It's not about mentality.
Clark: No, I mean, when the players had the problem, was that the mentality? What was it?
Tuchel: No, there's no mentality problem. This is pure mentality. This is pure mentality.
You can bottle it up and sell it.
Clark: Absolutely.
Tuchel: Yeah, so why is there a problem with mentality?
It's the quality of our games. That's it. It has nothing to do with mentality.
