Isthmian League Premier Division side Hashtag United will have a representative at the upcoming FIFA U17 World Cup in Indonesia – and his name is Ted Curd.

The 17-year-old goalkeeper has been included in Ryan Garry's 21-man squad for the upcoming tournament following an impressive start to life in England's seventh tier.

Curd, who has previously represented England at youth level, joined The Tags in September on a loan deal from Premier League side Chelsea.

He has since become a first-team regular for Jay Devereux's side, who currently sit 12th in the Isthmian League.

Hashtag posted the news on their social media shortly after the announcement, saying: "Congratulations on selection @TedCurd & good luck at the U17 World Cup with England and the #YoungLions,"

Curd joined Chelsea's development centre programme at the age of nine and progressed through the youth ranks. So far, he has played 32 games for the Blues' under-18 team, keeping five clean sheets.

The teenager was also part of the England Under-16 squad that won the Val de Marne trophy.

"His ability to distribute comfortably with his feet as well as make quality saves are a testament to him as a goalkeeper," says Chelsea's official website.

In terms of the tournament, England will kick-off their U-17 World Cup against New Caledonia on November 11th before facing Iran on Tuesday 14 November.

The Young Lions will then conclude Group C against Brazil on November 17th, with the top two from each group and four best third-placed teams progressing to the round of 16.

The competition will end with the final at the Manahan Stadium in Surakarta on December 2nd.

Goalkeepers: Ted Curd (Hashtag United, loan from Chelsea), Finlay Herrick (West Ham United), Tommy Setford (Ajax)
