England squad announced for Lee Carsley's final games before Thomas Tuchel's reign begins

Lee Carsley has selected his final England squad before Thomas Tuchel officially begins his tenure as the Three Lions.

England's squad for Lee Carsley's final camp as interim boss has been announced, with three uncapped players included.

Carsley takes charge of two final games in the UEFA Nations League, with the side travelling to Athens to face Greece on November 14 before taking on the Republic of Ireland Wembley Stadium three days later.

England currently occupy second place in League B Group 2 after accruing nine points - three points behind Greece.

The Three Lions will be looking to end the campaign on a high under Carsley before Thomas Tuchel officially begins his reign on January 1.

Carsley, who will drop back down to the England Under 21's, has not been afraid to make bold decisions in the role but his hand has been forced this time around with key players Harry Maguire, John Stones and Kobbie Mainoo all out through injury.

There is a call-up for Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones, who has been extremely impressive under new boss Arne Slot. He's featured 12 times for the Premier League leaders, scoring one goal and registering four assists.

Jones received a first call-up to the England squad in May ahead of Euro 2024 but was cut when the side was reduced to 26 players for the tournament.

Scorer of the goal which won Carsley's Under 21's the Euros in 2023, Jones will be hoping to finally secure a senior cap in the upcoming games.

And there are two new faces in the squad as Southampton centre-back Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Newcastle's left-back Lewis Hall have both been called up after impressing for their respective sides so far this season.

Harwood-Bellis, a Manchester City academy product, has served Carsley well as captain of the Under 21's, while Hall could be the answer to England's left-back problems.

Cole Palmer and Declan Rice are both in despite injury fears, while Jack Grealish is also in even though he has not yet returned from his injury.

Tuchel has no involvement in picking the squad and will not be in attendance for either fixture, it has been reported.
