England Could Face 'Group Of Death' In 2022 World Cup, Includes Old Rivals And Champion Nation

England could be drawn in a 'Group of Death' for the 2022 World Cup.

England could be drawn in a 'Group of Death' for the 2022 World Cup which would include old rivals Germany. 

​The official draw for the upcoming World Cup in Qatar takes place on Friday, with Gareth Southgate's side set to learn their fate in the group stage.

England, who are ranked fifth in the FIFA world rankings, join the host nation and a few big boys in Pot One. 

From No.1 ranked nation Brazil and World Cup holders France to Belgium and Argentina, among others.

However, England could be drawn with Germany who are in Pot Two. 

A potential 'Group of Death' could also contain Sadio Mane's AFCON winners Senegal (Pot Three) and Canada (Pot Four), who finished above USA and Mexico in the CONCACAF qualification.

There are some other tricky matches with the likes of the Netherlands and Uruguay in Pot Two, with Poland and Japan in Pot Three while Wales or Scotland (should they qualify for the World Cup) could also be drawn in the group stage.

The Three Lions beat Switzerland and Ivory Coast during the international break, with UEFA Nations League fixtures against Italy, Germany and Hungary slated to take place in June and September before the World Cup.
