Cristiano Ronaldo and David Beckham are tied for the richest footballers in the world right now ahead of Paris Saint-Germain superstar Lionel Messi.

Beckham, who retired from football in 2013, shot to stardom during his prolific playing career with Manchester United and England.

The 46-year-old United legend is the current co-owner and president of MLS side Inter Miami and co-owner of Salford City.

And Beckham has enjoyed lucrative sponsorship deals with the likes of Adidas, Giorgio Armani, Pepsi, Gillette and the Haig Club.

The former England captain also bagged a whopping £150m to become the face of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Wealthy Gorilla compiled data from TheRichest, Celebrity Net Worth and Forbes to determine the top 20 richest footballers, past and present, using their net worth estimates.

Beckham’s eye-watering $450m net worth placed him alongside United superstar Ronaldo in the star-studded list.

Ronaldo is reportedly the best-paid player in the Premier League after he inked a lucrative £485,000-a-week contract with United last summer.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner, much like Beckham, has benefited from money-spinning sponsorship deals with the likes of Nike, DAZN, Herbalife and Clear.

Ronaldo, 36, also has his business ventures outside of football, including his CR7 fashion brand and fragrances.

Posted below are the 20 richest footballers in the world in 2022, according to Wealthy Gorilla.
