Real Madrid defender David Alaba gave a brilliant answer when he was quizzed by a reporter after he assisted Vinicius Junior’s goal. You can watch the footage here.

The reporter asked Alaba: “I want to ask you about the first goal, because you made a great pass. How did you see Vinicius in front of the goal?”

Alaba then produced a hilarious reply, the Austrian said: “With my eyes.”, and he started laughing after he answered the question.

This comes after Carlo Ancelotti’s side maintained their perfect start to the 22/23 La Liga season, with a 2-1 win over Real Betis.

Alaba’s sublime pass found Vinicius Junior in the ninth minute, the Brazilian expertly finished the move off and made it 1-0 to the Los Blancos.

Eleven minutes later, Madrid’s lead was cancelled out thanks to a goal from former Barcelona midfielder, Sergio Canales.

In the second half, Madrid went back in front after Rodrygo made it 2-1.

The 21-year-old perhaps should have made it 3-1 later on in the match but he only managed to turn Luka Modric’s pin point cross onto the post.

With 15 minutes remaining, Betis pushed for an equaliser, Canales nearly scored his second goal of the match but saw his dipping shot repelled by Madrid keeper Thibault Courtois.

Madrid held on as they recorded their fourth straight victory in La Liga, the reigning champions of Europe are the only side with a 100 per cent record in Spain’s top flight.

Ancelotti’s side will now turn their attentions to the Champions League as they begin the defence of their European crown on Tuesday, with a trip to Celtic Park to face the Scottish champions.

Ahead of the game, last season’s final hero, Vinicius said: “Of course the aim as always for this club is to win the Champions League – but for now we are fully focused on the group stage.

“Celtic have a big tradition and we know their fans will create a big atmosphere.”

The Brazilian added: “Leipzig have some very good young players and German clubs are never easy to play against . For Shakhtar it will be special for them even if they do not get to play their games in their stadium.”
