Footage of Cristiano Ronaldo 'being a true leader' after Bukayo Saka's equaliser emerges

Cristiano Ronaldo's leadership qualities were on show for the world to see after Bukayo Saka's equaliser against Manchester United. You can see that fan footage below.

It was an action-packed first-half at Old Trafford. In the 34th minute, Brazilian forward Antony bagged on his United debut to give Erik ten Hag's the lead.

You could argue Antony's opener was against the run of play considering Arsenal's dominance for large periods, but the Gunners hit back on the hour mark through Saka.

If you missed it, here is footage of that effort from Sunday's game.

It was no more than Arsenal deserved and United needed to pick themselves up after a slow start to the second-half. Step forward Cristiano Ronaldo, who was spotted rallying his teammates after Saka levelled the scores.

As you can see in the footage above, a number of players looked deflated at losing their lead but the five-time Ballon d'Or winner made sure to motivate the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Christian Eriksen.

Ronaldo then made his way to the centre circle and clapped as if to say, let's go again. Tyrell Malacia certainly picked up on his actions.

Manchester United fans were loving Ronaldo's reaction to the goal. One said: "Do we have the mentality to get back in the game if Ronaldo isn't on the pitch? I'm not so sure. In previous times we probably would've just sulked and lost by two goals."

Another commented: "How is this man not Manchester United captain? I keep reading he’s in it for himself and that all he’s bothered about are personal records? Looks like it..."

A third wrote: "This is what they never show. No matter the situation he is in he still proves the type of guy he is on the field. He loves winning."

Six minutes later and Marcus Rashford would restore United's lead after some great play from Bruno Fernandes.

Rashford would put the game to bed soon after to secure their fourth consecutive Premier League win.

It was a huge win for the Reds and after the final whistle, Ten Hag explained how the substitution of Cristiano Ronaldo helped his side beat Arsenal on Sunday.

After being asked the thinking behind moving Rashford in the second-half, Ten Hag said: "It can also do it from the right, you bring in Cristiano Ronaldo as a frontman.

"Marcus did as a nine and from the wing, he played like Christian Eriksen, a pressing game, he transferred really good, but we expect from him a way of playing as a striker to be the target, drop in, play over, linking, arriving in the box and scoring goals.

"I'm really happy with his performance, it shows his development and room for improvement, but he’s got such great capabilities, I’m happy with him in the team."
