Cody Gakpo scores his third goal of the World Cup with beautiful strike, he's a superstar in the making

Cody Gakpo bagged his third goal of the World Cup against Qatar.

Cody Gakpo produced not one but TWO moments of magic as he scored his third goal of the World Cup, scoring a sensational strike against Qatar.

Gakpo continued his prolific form at the World Cup by opening the scoring in Netherlands' final group stage game against Qatar on Tuesday.

Memphis Depay laid a pass into the feet of Gakpo, who pulled off a silky flick to Davy Klaassen, who returned the ball to the PSV Eindhoven starlet.

From there, the 23-year-old drove at Qatar's backline before unleashing a ferocious strike into the back of the net to make it 1-0.

Gakpo's enjoying a brilliant campaign at PSV, having scored 13 goals in all competitions.

His latest strike for his country at the World Cup sent social media wild.

One Twitter user wrote: "Gakpo is too good. Bright future ahead."

A second tweeted: "Cody Gakpo is owning this World Cup. Three goals in three games."

On his goals at the World Cup, another added: "One with his head, one with his left foot and one with his right foot. Versatile."

He's been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United, who are thought to be in talks with the player's agent over a January move.

But fellow countryman Ryan Babel, who enjoyed a spell at Liverpool, reckons he should snub a move to Old Trafford in favour of a switch to Anfield.

Babel also believes Gakpo would be a good fit at Mikel Arteta's Arsenal.

"You see him linked to clubs in England, such as Manchester United. Everyone has the right price so let’s see how he develops in the tournament," he told The Athletic.

"He has shown enough quality that he is ready for the next step, whether it’s in January or next summer.

"As a Liverpool fan, I would tell him to go to Liverpool if they make an approach!

"Arsenal would also be an incredible team for him, with the current manager and the project that they’re building. He has to follow his heart."
