THROWBACK: Geoff Shreeves Being A Knob To Branislav Ivanovic

Cheers, Geoff.

We recall one of the most awkward moments in television history as Sky Sports present Geoff Shreeves breaks the unfortunate news that the defender will miss the 2011/12 Champions League final live on television.

The 32-year-old is set to end his 10-year association with the club as he heads back to Russia signing a reported three-and-a-half-year deal with Zenit St Petersburg.

But the Serbian will leave Stamford Bridge with fond memories. Not only has he won the Premier League twice, and the FA Cup an impressive three times but also the coveted Champions League.

Even if he didn't play a single second in the final.

(Chelsea players and staff celebrate on the pitch after beating Barcelona.)

Ivanovic and Co. reached the Champions League final to seal an amazing two-legged victory over Barcelona. Amidst the heroic display from Chelsea, John Terry was sent off while Ivanovic picked up a booking preventing him from playing the final.

And during the post-match interview he was completely oblivious to the situation until Shreeves dropped a bombshell. He turned to teammate Ashley Cole for reassurance until Shreeves continued to deliver bad news by confirming his suspension.

Cheers, Geoff.

Ivanovic wasn't the only player to miss the occasion. Raul Meireles, John Terry - who could forget?! - and Ramires were also suspended for the final.
