BBC Sport pundit Chris Sutton has given his prediction for the Premier League clash involving Liverpool vs Man City this weekend - and believes it will be a "walloping" by one side.
The two clubs enter the clash at Anfield in contrasting positions in the table. Liverpool sit 10th, already 14 points behind league leaders Arsenal, after a 3-2 defeat to the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium.
City, meanwhile, are second, and could go top if they beat Liverpool, and Arsenal drop points at Leeds.
But despite the difficulties that Jurgen Klopp's side are going through at the moment in the league, Liverpool vs City is always a highly anticipated encounter. The Citizens have only won two Premier League games at Anfield this century (as per 11vs11), although the most recent win was a 4-1 victory in February 2021.

In addition, Liverpool haven't lost a league game at home since March 2021, with Fulham emerging surprise 1-0 winners on that occasion. Therefore, Pep Guardiola's side can expect a difficult afternoon in attempting to break through the Reds defence.
However, one-time Premier League winner Sutton doesn't hold out much hope for Sunday's hosts.
Chris Sutton backs Man City vs Liverpool
Speaking as part of his weekly BBC Sport Premier League predictions column, Sutton explained: "It is hard to make a case for Liverpool still being in the title race anyway, but if City go to Anfield and win, then it really is all over for Jurgen Klopp's side; they would have no chance.

"City will know that, and they know they could land a knockout blow. Erling Haaland was rested in midweek, so he will be ready - and I think City are that good, they will wipe the floor with them.
"Liverpool's high line has been causing them problems anyway - Rangers were able to get at them in the first half on Wednesday - so they would have to be very brave to try that against Haaland.
"They might still create opportunities, because of the way City are set up, but when you look at both teams, City are just too good.
"Pep Guardiola's side scored four at Anfield in February 2021, and I think they will match that. I almost went for them to get five, which City last managed there in 1937, but either way this will be a walloping."

Sutton gave his overall prediction as 4-1, matching their win in the aforementioned February 2021 game. His prediction opponent for the week, lifelong Liverpool fan Ian Broudie, of the Lightning Seeds, went for 9-0 to the Reds - so a tad more optimistic about his side's chances.
