Chelsea Want To 'Destroy' Barcelona By Making Three Signings Worth €130 Million, It'd Be Outrageous

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is hopeful the club can sign Barcelona trio Frenkie de Jong, Gavi and Sergino Dest according to stunning reports.

The Blues are currently 12 points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City and manager Thomas Tuchel knows he needs to strengthen his squad.

Tuchel's only two signings have been Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan and Saul Niguez on loan from Atletico Madrid, with both underwhelming so far.

El Nacional claim Abramovich is ready to put his hand in his pocket and attempt to 'destroy' an already weak Barcelona.

De Jong is said to be the first player Chelsea want and Abramovich is personally involved in sorting any deal.

It's believed he has his sights on the Netherlands international, who has endured a difficult season at the Camp Nou.

The 24-year-old arrived from Ajax in 2019 and has been seen as the long-term heir to Sergio Busquets' throne.

He's no longer considered an 'undisputed starter' however despite playing 23 times this campaign.

Tuchel is said to see de Jong as a replacement for Saul, who likely won't be moving to Stamford Bridge on a permanent basis.

Next up is teenage sensation Gavi who is yet to sign a new contract with his boyhood side.

Financial issues still plague the Blaugrana and they currently can't offer the 17-year-old an improved deal due to an inflated wage bill.

Gavi wants to stay in Spain, but Chelsea are prepared to take advantage of his €50 million release clause.

Last on the agenda is right-back Sergino Dest who is 'not untouchable' at Barcelona.

Dani Alves' return has seen him fall down the pecking order and he's been linked with a move to Bayern Munich in January.

Chelsea are interested in signing Dest as a backup to Reece James.

James has been out since the start of this month with a thigh injury and the width he provides has been missed.

Chelsea drew 1-1 with Brighton on Tuesday evening and it continues a rotten winter which has seen them slide out of the title race.

They return to action on Sunday afternoon against Tottenham Hotspur.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are sixth in La Liga and 17 points off bitter rivals Real Madrid at the top.
