Fans have been reacting on social media after seeing Mykhailo Mudryk’s impressive performance for Ukraine U21.

Back in January, Chelsea splashed out £62 million to lure Mudryk away from Shakhtar Donetsk.

However, the 22-year-old failed to impress during his first few months in English football.

In 15 Premier League matches for the Stamford Bridge club, Mudryk only managed to record two assists and failed to score a single goal.

Over the last few weeks, the winger has been impressive whilst on international duty with Ukraine for the U21 Euro.

On Wednesday night, Mudryk impressed again during the semi-final clash against Spain.

The 22-year-old provided a brilliant assist for Artem Bondarenko to open the scoring in the 13th minute.

With his side 2-1 down, Mudryk nearly made another fantastic assist but Ukraine were denied an equaliser by Spain goalkeeper Arnau Tenas.

Fans were quick to react to Mudryk’s performance on social media.

One said: “Fantastic assist from Mudryk. He is going to cook next season..”

Another tweeted: “Mudryk is also very good in those areas. He's isn't just a touchline winger.”

A third fan added: “Big things gonna happen for Mudryk next season, the rest of the Premier League need to be careful.”

Someone else wrote: “This U21 Euros might turn out to be pivotal for Mudryk next season.”

Whilst a fifth commented: “Mudryk next season, the pl won't know what hit them!”

Chelsea are gearing up for the 23/24 season under the guidance of new manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Speaking ahead of the campaign in his first interview, Pochettino said: “It’s going to be exciting but while it’s close, it’s also still far away. First, we need to meet the players, start work, then the tour in America, which is going to be unbelievable to meet all the fans.

“We will be ready for the first game against Liverpool – and it is going to be so exciting to have the first Premier League game at Stamford Bridge.”

He added: “We will face a team that’s very good in Liverpool, I know very well from the past. Now it’s important to visualise ourselves at Stamford Bridge. We know very well the stadium and we know with the fans we will create a good atmosphere.”
