Chelsea and Manchester City have been linked with a sensational swap deal which could happen in the summer transfer window.

Despite spending over £300 million in the January transfer window, Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is already drawing up his wish list ahead of the summer.

City on the other hand are reportedly planning to sign a full-back in the next transfer window as Pep Guardiola looks to replace Joao Cancelo.

This could lead to a spectacular swap deal between Chelsea and City.

Although Cancelo is currently on loan at German Bundesliga side Bayern Munich, the buy option of £62 million is thought to be too steep for the Bavarian club.

According to 90min, Chelsea are one of many clubs keeping an eye on the situation regarding Cancelo.

The report claimed that Bayern are instead looking to do a longer-term arrangement for the Portugal international but for a lower price.

City are reportedly interested in Chelsea’s Ben Chilwell. Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano said to Caught Offside: “Ben Chilwell is one of the players who has been appreciated by Manchester City for years.

“For sure, he’s one of the left-backs to consider. But I’m told [he’s] not the only one. They will have a shortlist of players in that position and will decide how to proceed together with Pep in May or June.”

This could be lined up perfectly as Cancelo could go to Chelsea whilst Chilwell moves to the Etihad Stadium in what would be a stunning swap deal involving two of the finest full-backs in world football.

On Cancelo’s loan move to Bayern, Guardiola recently said: “I wish him the very best. He has four months [in Munich] and next season I don't know what's going to happen.

“He has been an incredible figure in the last two Premier Leagues that we won. After the World Cup, we started to play in some different patterns and I liked what I watched and I decided to give more time to those on the pitch.”

Could we see Cancelo to Chelsea and Chilwell to City? Only time will tell.
