Fans have been left shocked by the fact that Burnley have returned to pre-season training already.

The Clarets enjoyed a stellar 22/23 season under the guidance of Vincent Kompany, who led them to the Championship title.

As Burnley prepare for their return to the Premier League, the players have been filmed returning to training on Monday, despite the fact that the season only ended less than a month ago.

On their official Twitter account, Burnley posted a video of the players arriving into training with a caption that read: “Back from the break and ready to work.”

Fans have been left in disbelief as they reacted on social media.

One said: “Wow goodness me. Feels like we've just finished! Champions league final hasn't even happened yet.”

Another tweeted: “Wait a minute… the season ended in the EPL and ppl are already returning for training am I missing something here??”

A third fan added: “Love this!!! Vinny work rate & expectations set high. Could be crucial in getting off to a good start. Let’s goooo clarets.”

Someone else wrote: “Bro, it's not even up to two weeks since the season ended.”

Whilst a fifth commented: “Jesus thats a month head start on other prem clubs, they only finished lastweek.”

Another fan said: “It’s the 5th of June what’s going on.”

Recently, Burnley boss Kompany spoke about the type of players he wants to sign for the club’s return to the top flight.

He said: “We want players who can run, a lot. So the performance testing is important for us.

“We know we like players who are fit so the medical screening is important.”

He added: “Youth can cost you points but also creates value so you need to find the blend of talent and experience. That is what we did this year and it doesn't change because we're in a higher division.

“I'm not someone desperate for change but it's normal when a new manager and ownership group comes in. Recruitment starts with the profile of players you are looking for.”
