Fans have a theory after Bukayo Saka spotted singing another club's anthem on England duty

Fans have a theory.

Fans have come up with an audacious transfer theory after Bukayo Saka sung another club's anthem on England duty.

The Arsenal star had an incredible Premier League season for the Gunners, helping them to second place in the table with a career-best tally of 14 goals. He also added 11 assists.

Saka is an automatic pick in England squads as a result of his Arsenal displays over recent years, and was named in the contingent to take on Malta and North Macedonia in Euro 2024 qualifiers.

The 21-year-old, who is still fresh off signing a new long-term contract with the Gunners that has reportedly made him the club's top earner, started in the 4-0 win over Malta on Friday.

He was credited with the assist for the eighth-minute own goal that put England ahead, although had to be substituted at half-time.

After the game, Gareth Southgate confirmed the forward had been withdrawn as a precaution, and would be fit to take on North Macedonia.

And as the Three Lions prepared for that clash, Saka congratulated one of his international team-mates on his recent transfer.

Saka sings club anthem to team-mate

The player in question was none other than Jude Bellingham, who recently completed a move to Real Madrid for an initial fee of £88.5 million.

Upon seeing Bellingham, Saka was filmed in a video posted by England singing part of Real's anthem: "Madrid, Hala Madrid, Y nada mas [Madrid, Hello Madrid, And nothing else]."

With Saka recently committing his long-term future to Arsenal, it is highly likely that his performance was a way of celebrating Bellingham's own move to Real.

But his recital of the anthem got fans thinking of his potential next destination if he goes on to leave Arsenal in the future.

Taking to Twitter, one Real fan claimed: "Arsenal fans ain't ready for that Ornstein exclusive on Real Madrid advanced talks with Arsenal for Saka tweet."

Another added: "Is every player's dream to play for Real Madrid."

A third said: "If we hear Bukayo Saka links to Madrid then I won't be surprised."

And a fourth wrote: "2024, Saka, we're gonna get you out of Arsenal. Marquee signing."
