It was double delight for Brighton and Brentford as both teams scored plenty of crucial late goals on their way to fantastic seasons in the Premier League.

To celebrate Betfair’s 90 minute payout, we’ve looked at last season’s Premier League and found the teams that perform best when the 90 hits the clock.

With Betfair’s 90 minute payout on football singles and accumulators for all customers, you’ll never have to worry about a dramatic 90+ minute goal ruining your bet again.

The Seagulls and the Bees both scored a total of five goals in time added on, with those late strikes helping Brighton secure European football for the first time in their history.

Brentford, who also enjoyed a season to remember under manager Thomas Frank, finished in ninth spot and missed out on a European spot by just two points.

With Brighton and Brentford scoring a hatful of late goals, there’s no doubt they would have ruined some Saturday accas with their last minute antics.

Despite scoring four goals in stoppage time, it was a season to forget for Tottenham who finished outside of the European places for the first time since 2010.

Man United also scored four late goals as well as they booked their Champions League spot, while Arsenal, Man City’s title challengers for a large chunk of the season, hit the back of the net on three occasions in stoppage time, but it wasn’t enough to help them over the line.

In the end Pep Guardiola’s side won the title for a third season in a row, but didn’t need too many late goals to help them, as they only netted twice in time added on as they made it five Premier League titles in the last six seasons.

Chelsea had a season to forget on the pitch, and they’re feeling even more ‘blue’ as they are one of just two sides who failed to score a goal in stoppage time.

The Stamford Bridge outfit finished in a lowly 12th and were a staggering 17 points off a European spot, and in fact were nearer the relegation zone as they accrued only 10 more points than relegated Leicester.

The Blues were one of the most goal-shy teams all season as well in the league, scoring just 38 goals across the 38-game season, with only Wolverhampton Wanderers (31), Everton (34), Southampton (36) and Bournemouth (37) scoring less.

The only other side who failed to score a goal in stoppage time at the end of the game were Leicester, who also suffered a frustrating season with the 2015 Premier League champions being relegated to the Championship for the first time since 2013.

Betfair’s 90 minute payout means winning bets on their Match Odds 90 market will be paid out in full at 90 minutes, regardless of the full time result. That’s right, no matter what happens after the 90 minutes is up, if your bet is a winner, you’ll be paid out meaning these incredibly dramatic goals would not have affected your bet negatively.
