Eden Hazard's FIFPro XI Appearance Continues Incredible Consistency

The Chelsea forward was once again honoured at the FIFA Best Awards last night as he was picked in the team of the year.

Eden Hazard is easily one of the best footballers in the world but one thing that would frustrate Chelsea fans is his consistency. However his appearances in teams of the year suggest otherwise.

There's been lots of talk over the years about whether or not Eden Hazard could force himself into the top echelon of players, could he be the person to take over from Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as the best in the world?

One thing that has held the Belgian back though is his inconsistency and the lack of times he really takes a game by the scruff of the neck and wins it on will alone, he can and does do it but not as often as Ronaldo or Messi.

Hazard, unlike the two men who have dominated football for the previous decade has also had one ridiculously off year. In 2015/16, when Chelsea finished 10th, he scored just four goals in the Premier League.

Last season though he was on form for club and country as he scored 12 goals in the Premier League and helped Belgium to third place in the World Cup with three goals for the national team.

That helped him get picked in the FIFPro Team of the Year last night and despite criticism over his consistency the amount of times he gets in these kind of teams might prove otherwise:

That incredible run of being in teams of the year means that only his first two seasons as a senior pro for Lille, the first one playing only four times, 2015/16 and weirdly last season has he failed to be in his domestic team of the year.

Despite missing out on Premier League honours this year he was still in the World Cup and FIFPro XIs.

Last night he was in a team of David de Gea, Marcelo, Raphael Varane, Sergio Ramos, Dani Alves; N'Golo Kante, Luka Modric; Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi, Eden Hazard; Cristiano Ronaldo.
