Ben Foster reveals the holiday destination 'heaving with footballers'

Former Manchester United player Ben Foster has named the Greek island of Mykonos as the perfect place to hunt for Premier League players.

Foster has described the island as ‘heaving with footballers.’

Whenever the Premier League comes to a close, footballers regularly jet off around the world for their well deserved break. , Jack Grealish was seen partying in Ibiza last year after winning the Premier League for the first time in dramatic circumstances.

Despite that, Foster named Mykonos as the place to be if fans wants to bump into one of their favourite players.

When asked about where autograph hunters should target, Foster said on the Fozcast: "Mykonos for sure, Mykonos, it is the new big one."

"A lot of people also go to Portugal to be fair, a lot go and get a villa and get somewhere along the golf courses. Mykonos is huge for it though, it is heaving with footballers."

"If you are an autograph hunter, just go to Mykonos at about 8:30pm on any night and just stand in the middle."

Many footballers were pictured in Mykonos after the end of the 2020/21 campaign with England players Luke Shaw, Jack Grealish and Mason Mount all spotted in the Greek island after the bitterly disappointing end to England’s Euro campaign.

Having been a footballer for the last two decades before his retirement, Foster also shared his tips on how to avoid meeting another footballer and the dreaded autograph hunters whilst he was on holiday with his family or team mates.

He said: "How easy is it to spot a footballer while on holiday, though? We went to Mykonos a couple of years ago and you know there’s just hundreds of footballers there."

"You’re walking down these lovely painted cobble streets and all I am doing is looking over the top of everybody because I am tall, and I am thinking ‘oh god he’s a footballer, kids we’re going this way’. And I am dragging them down dodgy alleys just to divert around them."
