Barcelona Player Has Broken Rule Just Days After Xavi Hernandez Was Appointed

Xavi Hernandez has introduced a number of new rules but one has already has broken.

It's emerged Barcelona youngster Riqui Puig has already broken one of Xavi's new rules just days after the legendary midfielder was appointed manager.

In his first press conference as Blaugrana boss, Xavi announced he would be making wholesale changes in the dressing room and introduced a series of strict rules.

And Puig, 22, may well be in a spot of bother with his new gaffer. According to Miguel Rico of Sport, Puig nearly ran over a pedestrian while driving an electric scooter on a footpath in Barcelona.

He was with a companion and the incident occurred on Monday - just before Xavi outlined his missions to improve standards.

DGT (Directorate-General for Traffic) regulations stipulate that one cannot take a second person on the vehicle nor drive on the pavement.

It's unclear whether Puig will be disciplined by Xavi, though we do know the 41-year-old will be bringing back fines for those who fall foul of regulations.

AS have published a comprehensive list of Xavi's rules, which vary from turning up early before training, strict curfews and no "risky activities".

1.Players must arrive 90 minutes before training start

2. Staff must arrive two hours before training starts

3. Players must eat at the club's training ground
