Andreas Christensen has reverted back to his old profile picture of him in a Chelsea shirt amid Barcelona's registration issues.

Christensen moved to the Camp Nou from Chelsea on a free transfer this summer.

But he could leave his new club before even making a competitive appearance.

That's because Christensen could depart the club for free if he is not registered before the club's La Liga opener against Rayo Vallecano on Saturday.

With the new Spanish season just a few days away from commencing, the Danish defender has yet to be registered by Barca as the club continues to balance the books.

As a result, he's changed his Instagram profile picture back to the one of him in a Chelsea shirt, fueling rumours that he could make a sensational return to Stamford Bridge.

What's more, the 26-year-old also deleted a post announcing his transfer to Barca.

A move back to Chelsea could be on the cards, with Thomas Tuchel eyeing a new centre-back ahead of transfer deadline day.

He's keeping tabs on Wesley Fofana, but Leicester City are holding out for a reported £80 million.

Christensen has been on the books at Chelsea since turning professional, enjoying a two-year loan spell at Borussia Monchengladbach during his spell.

He's currently a Barcelona player, but with their ongoing issues he could once again be a Chelsea player.
