Arsenal have received a major injury boost after William Saliba was spotted back in the gym.

Saliba has been integral to Mikel Arteta's title charge this season, forming a formidable partnership alongside Gabriel Magalhaes in the heart of defence.

Although an injury against Sporting Lisbon has stopped the defender in his tracks.

The 21-year-old limped off the field during Arsenal's Europa League defeat after an awkward fall on his back, and has not featured for the Gunners since.

While his absence was sorely missed against West Ham on Sunday, as the Gunners blew a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 at the London Stadium, losing valuable ground in the title race.

The result leaves Arsenal four points clear at the top of the table - albeit having played one more game than second-placed Manchester City.

All eyes will turn to the Etihad in just over a week's time when Arteta takes on former colleague Pep Guardiola in a title-defining showdown.

The Evening Standard have claimed that 'the trip to Manchester City looks like it will come too soon' for Saliba, who is targeting his return around the latter stages of the season.

However, the 21-year-old clearly hasn't giving up just yet, after Mohamed Elneny posted a video on Instagram which will get Gunners fans excited.

Saliba was filmed on an exercise bike alongside Elneny, who is also sidelined with an injury.

Elneny shouted "Willy, vamos", to which Saliba responded by pointing to his head, in a clear display of mental strength.

Last week, Arteta offered an update on Saliba, saying: “He’s progressing well and we’re hopeful that we’ll have him available in the next few weeks. We’ll have to see.”
