Arsenal target Mykhaylo Mudryk has posted a new photo on his Instagram account amid reports that the Gunners have placed an official bid for his services.

Fabrizio Romano claimed on Monday that Arsenal have submitted a bid of €40 million, plus €20 million in add-ons, but that the offer falls comfortably short of what Shakhtar want for the 21-year-old winger.

The Gunners faced West Ham on Boxing Day, coming from behind to win 3-1. Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Eddie Nketiah all got on the scoresheet.

Mudryk was active on Instagram during the game, posting a new story which showed him watching the game live - another hint that he is keen on moving to the club.

And Football Insider claim that Arsenal are 'confident' of getting a deal done for Mudryk by the end of the week. They want to complete the move swiftly, despite Shakhtar wanting over £65 million to sell one of their star assets.

Meanwhile, in an interview with CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs, the Ukrainian said it would be a dream to play in English football's top division, but that he was focused on Shakhtar.

He explained: "In the winter we will see [regarding future]. There was a lot of discussion about the transfer, about the clubs who want me. But it's normal.

"Now, I'm at Shakhtar and I want to play in this team. I love this team. I love every guy in this team. Shakhtar is now my home, but for me it's very important that all my thoughts are only about Shakhtar.

"I think every guy dreams about the Premier League."

Asked about Arsenal in particular, he replied: "Yes, from my side I can't say no [to Arsenal]."

Gunners fans will be hoping a deal to sign the highly-rated young winger can be concluded swiftly in January once the transfer window officially opens.
